RESPONSIBILITIES: The Director of Development will
report to the Vice President for Advancement, Alumni Relations, and
Athletics. Provides overall leadership for the College of Education
and Human Services' fundraising program, with primary emphasis on

administrative operations and oversight of the activities of the
WIU Cybersecurity Center (WIU-CC) with a tenure-track faculty
appointment. Along with those duties specific to the WIU-CC, the

courses in cybersecurity, computer science, and/or information
systems; participating in broad-based university, college and
departmental committee work; producing quality scholarship and

(currently in process, Cycle 8), grant preparation, curriculum
development, and oversight of the WIU-CC. The Center Director's

APPOINTMENT: Tenure-track appointment beginning August 2023

RESPONSIBILITIES: For appointment as assistant professor, the
successful candidate will assume a range of responsibilities
including (but not limited to): teaching undergraduate and graduate

Earned doctorate in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information
Systems, or closely related field. Although preference is given to
candidates with a completed PhD by the appointment start date, ABDs
in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or Information Systems will be
considered. ABDs who have not completed the PhD within one year
from their start date will receive a terminal contract.(For a

Preference will be given to candidates who demonstrate a

data analytics, or software engineering. Candidates should also
demonstrate a willingness to develop and deliver innovative

• Developing human resource plans and strategies that support
achieving overall business objectives. Serving as a mentor,

• Functioning as a strategic advisor to each unit's leadership

Minimum Qualifications
• A Master's degree in human resources, organizational
development, leadership, labor law, or other related fields.
• Minimum of 5 years of progressive human resources experience in

APPOINTMENT: Nine-month teaching position
beginning, August 2023.

RESPONSIBILITIES: The SCUBA Program Director will
oversee and continue the development of the academic SCUBA diving
minor housed in the Department of Kinesiology at Western Illinois
University. The SCUBA diving minor currently includes approximately
30 students from across multiple departments at WIU. The Director
is expected to teach SCUBA classes, maintain equipment and training
facilities, act as a liaison with the campus and regional community
in an effort to expand the minor across the region, and teach other
courses as needed in the Department of Kinesiology.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Must be a certified SCUBA
instructor from one of the major training agencies (NAUI, PADI,

have professional experience teaching a variety of SCUBA specialty
courses. In addition, the candidate needs to hold a Masters degree

science, nutrition and dietetics, coaching, and/or sport management

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Instructor-trainer
certification with the ability to certify SCUBA instructors as part
of our SCUBA minor. The successful candidate should also

Previous teaching experience in higher education is also

Academics

More than 61 undergraduate degree programs, 40 graduate programs,
two doctoral programs and 13 post-baccalaureate certificate
programs prepare students for a successful career after
graduation.

Student Resources

There are more than 200 student organizations at Western that
provide social, academic, recreation, sports, service, and many
other opportunities for students to grow and learn, develop
leadership skills, and much more. Numerous concerts, lectures,
films, dance performances, cultural events and more are presented
and performed each year, along with numerous major theatrical and
dance productions and studio shows, and a variety of
service-oriented projects and activities, all in a diverse and
inclusive campus environment. The Multicultural Center is home to
four cultural and resource centers: The Gwendolyn Brooks, Casa
Latina, the Women's Center, and the LGBT*QA Resource Center. These
cultural and resource centers promote WIU's goal of enhancing
justice, diversity, equity, and inclusion through educational
programming and advocacy.

WIU
Intercollegiate Athletics

The University's athletics program, based on the Macomb campus,
sponsors 17 NCAA Division I intercollegiate men's and women's
varsity sports. Football competes in the NCAA Division I Football
Championship Subdivision through the Missouri Valley Football
Conference; all other varsity sports compete at the Division I
level through The Summit League.
