The Elementary Language Arts Teacher involves teaching sixth-grade English and reading classes. This position begins on August 1.

Essential Job Responsibilities:
• Carrying out a program of study prescribed in the English and reading curriculum
• Creating a learning environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity, interests, and learning styles of the students
• Having a thorough knowledge of grammar and understanding its importance to the class and student writing
• Carrying out ongoing assessment of reading and writing needs; writing and modifying the lesson plans as needed; maintaining student achievement records
• Managing student behavior in a manner that optimizes the learning environment
• Assists with projects and school-wide initiatives and has the ability and willingness to contribute to the Academy through co-curricular activities.
• Displaying a willingness to follow school procedures and regulations
• Communicating effectively with students, parents, teachers, and school administrators

Required Skills:
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills demonstrating tact and diplomacy
• A solid understanding of learning challenges as well as the accommodations and differentiated learning techniques to support students’ needs
• Strong organizational and classroom management skills

Minimum Job Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education with experience in reading and/or literacy instruction.
• Proficient in using technology support platforms/programs that will support student learning.
• 3+ years of successful teaching at the elementary level preferred

The Employee Experience Specialist plays an important role in supporting our diverse employee population by partnering with the existing Talent & Culture team to maintain a consistent onsite presence, complete various administrative tasks, and assist with employee onboarding and offboarding.
