The Role

The WFC Buyer is tasked with delivering a competitive cost for our products which in turn achieves agreed profit metrics for the category. The WFC Buyer works with the Product Development teams to help negotiate the right balance of COGs and quality. The WFC Buyer is also responsible for determining and developing appropriate sources of supply and maintaining cooperative working relationships with suppliers in order to stay current with trends and technologies, products and services.

Some of your key responsibilities will be:
• Negotiate contracts on existing portfolio and assist with negotiations on new products.
• Deliver COGS reductions that align to the right strategic supply base and quality level.
• Understand supply base capability and constantly identify opportunities and nurture new supplier relationships which will deliver long term competitive advantage for Woolworths.
• Review, refine and amend supplier strategies to manage competition.
• Maintain and Update Competitor Pricing Analysis.
• Maintain and Update Contract Review Schedule.
• Monitor range KPIs to ensure supply continuity and contract volume consumption.
• Regularly review levels of Dumps, Clearance, Out of Code, Unknown and Known shrinkage and review the root causes and apply actions to minimise these losses.

The Opportunity

We are currently looking for a Finance Manager for Primary Connect Finance, you will get end to end business exposure partnering with GM of NSW and the leadership team. This is a high profile 6 month FTC with the potential to be extended. Key Responsibilities Include
• Monitoring and interpreting each sites financial performance to determine areas where corrective action is required.

• Working with Supply Chain Managers to deliver financial performance improvement where required.
• In conjunction with Head of Labour Planning (NSW), support Supply Chain Managers deliver labour improvements.
• Supporting productivity by providing clear cost to serve analysis to aid decision making and monitoring benefit delivery.
• Providing guidance and coaching to Supply Chain Managers in regard to financial performance management.
• Working with National Procurement, ensure that all major procurement contracts are managed effectively and new contracts are evaluated to deliver maximum value.
• Provide financial performance insights to further highlight opportunities.
• Working with Operations Excellence team (NSW) to ensure project benefits captured accurately and in a timely manner

Who We’re Looking For

• Lead and coach others in executing on the following responsibilities, as well as being hands-on and executing them directly as well where appropriate for larger, more complex projects.

• Draw on a range of information sources, for example analyse business processes, systems, people behaviour and data to inform solution designs and resolve issues.
