Role Snapshot
Our full-time remote Medical Director is a physician leader with expert knowledge in Medicare appeals and regulations. The Medical Director is responsible for clinical coverage determinations and staff trainings on clinical matters. In addition, this role collaborates with medical societies and peer groups to share information and provide education.
In Addition, This Role Will
• Work with RN(s) on local coverage determinations – reviewing new procedures that may involve new technology and determine if they believe Medicare program should cover
• Organize and facilitate Contractor Advisory Committee meetings (CAC) including, meeting and recruiting CAC members
• Work with Medical Review Clinical Team to help develop our Medical Review strategies
• Work with data analytics team to request data that they can analyze in an effort to determine if we have some aberrancy with a particular service or provider
• Ensure we are meeting clinical aspects of contracts
• Meet with CMS staff to provide updates
• Involved in responding to requests for proposals both new and existing contracts
• Respond to inquiries from providers and representatives of the medical industry regarding advanced medical solutions that may provide better patient treatments
• Provide consultation to law enforcement with investigations regarding fraudulent provider activity

Duties
As a POLITICAL MILITARY PLANNER (WPS) at the GS-0301-14 some of your typical work assignments may include...
• Supports the CJCS in the statutory role to prepare military analysis, options, and plans to recommend to the President and the Secretary of Defense (SecDef) on matters related to WPS Strategy and HS issues impacting the military.
• Applies subject matter expertise (SME) and collaborates with Interagency stakeholders to develop policies, strategies, and doctrine across specified areas of responsibility.
• As a recognized authority in WPS and HS policy and strategy, is delegated responsibility and authority to plan, schedule and carry out major projects independently.
• Identifies, proposes, and works independently and cooperatively with DoD and Interagency partners on unique, difficult, and complex issues associated with all aspects of the WPS and HS requiring creative, innovative approaches.
• Works closely with WPS and HS Action Officers in the Office of the Undersecretary of Policy (OUSD(P)) to develop, monitor, and complete DoD initiatives, goals and action issued by the White House Gender Policy Council (WH-GPC) and NSC HS and Human Rights.
• Works closely with the Interagency to compile inputs into Congressional reports and other legislative documents and provides Congressional briefings with their WPS and HS counterparts from (OSD(P)).

A. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service:
• Preparing military analysis, options, and plans on matters related to Women, Peace, and Security (WPS) Strategy and human security (HS) issues impacting the military
• Developing and maintaining WPS knowledge management (KM) catalogues for the WPS Community
• Developing and reviewing policy, programs, analysis of military education to advance integration of WPS and HS concepts
