The Opportunity
WSDOT is currently seeking a Highway Maintenance Lead (HMW3) to lead crews performing maintenance of a specific sub-section of highway, including leading a section-wide crew. This lead position performs regular highway, roadside, infrastructure, and right-of-way maintenance and repair tasks.

These positions require a quick response time to job sites. Highway maintenance crews are ready 24 hours a day, seven days a week. By taking on this role, you are serving a key and vital function to the State of Washington.
What to Expect
Among the varied range of responsibilities held within this role, the Highway Maintenance Worker 2 will:
• Perform journey-level highway, roadside, infrastructure, and right-of-way maintenance and repair tasks.
• Operation of Class A Highway equipment on a regular basis to maintain state roadways and highways. May be required to operate Class B and C level equipment on as needed basis.
• Design and set up traffic control operations, as well as full road or bridge closures according to departmental and MUTCD standards.
• Install and repair guardrail and end sections and remove dangerous and hazardous debris from roadways.

Qualifications

• One (1) year of experience performing maintenance activities or equivalent.

• Two (2) years of highway maintenance, logging, farming, excavation, heavy equipment, or equivalent.
• Current Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class B

These positions require a quick response time to job sites. Highway maintenance crews are ready 24 hours a day, seven days a week. What to Expect
Among the varied range of responsibilities held within this role, the Highway Maintenance Worker 2 will:
• Perform journey-level highway, roadside, infrastructure, and right-of-way maintenance and repair tasks.
• Operation of Class A Highway equipment on a regular basis to maintain state roadways and highways. May be required to operate Class B and C level equipment on as needed basis.
• Design and set up traffic control operations, as well as full road or bridge closures according to departmental and MUTCD standards.
• Install and repair guardrail and end sections and remove dangerous and hazardous debris from roadways.
• Removal of snow and ice during winter season.
• Assist in assembling, installing, and replacing signs, sign components and signposts.
• Respond to emergency call outs and/or work overtime on short notice (days, nights, holidays, and weekends).
• Participate and carry out the Department's safety program.
• Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
To be considered for this opportunity Highway Maintenance Worker 1 level, the following are required:
• One (1) year of experience performing maintenance activities or equivalent.
• Education from a trade school may be substituted for the required experience on a year for year basis.
To be considered for this opportunity Highway Maintenance Worker 2 level, the following are required:
• Two (2) years of highway maintenance, logging, farming, excavation, heavy equipment, or equivalent.
• Current Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class B
• (Must obtain CDL Class A within 12 months of employment)
In addition, candidates at either level will have:
• Ability to respond to emergency call outs, work nights, work different and/or extended shifts on short notice (days, nights, and weekends), and perform standby duty.

WSDOT Accounting and Financial Services (AFS) is currently seeking a Payroll Assistant Manager in Olympia, WA. AFS has oversight and responsibility for providing statewide financial services to WSDOT internal and external customers. AFS supports the WSDOT mission as the expert resource for accounting leadership and direction, delivering critical statewide accounting services. This includes development/implementation of statewide policy, managing statewide financial systems and data repositories, statewide financial reporting, managing interactions with state and federal regulators, delivery of statewide accounting services (payroll, vendor/contract payments, receivables, cash receipting, grant management, inventory management, project management, financial statement preparation, etc.), and providing statewide financial management, analysis and consultation to all programs within WSDOT.
The Payroll Assistant Manager for Systems, Data & Regional Support Services leads a team of Fiscal Analysts responsible for ensuring WSDOT Regional employees receive accurate and timely pay, for providing data and systems support, and for providing support for both the payroll helpdesk and imaging process. This position is the Payroll Manager’s primary lead and advisor for all issues related to the application of non-Marine collective bargaining agreement rules as they relate to pay, DOTtime Maintenance & Operations, Fiscal Year End/Biennium End payroll tasks, and Payroll and Labor data reporting.

The Payroll Assistant Manager for Systems, Data & Regional Support Services leads a team of Fiscal Analysts responsible for ensuring WSDOT Regional employees receive accurate and timely pay, for providing data and systems support, and for providing support for both the payroll helpdesk and imaging process. This position is the Payroll Manager’s primary lead and advisor for all issues related to the application of non-Marine collective bargaining agreement rules as they relate to pay, DOTtime Maintenance & Operations, Fiscal Year End/Biennium End payroll tasks, and Payroll and Labor data reporting.

Among the varied range of responsibilities held within this role, the Payroll Assistant Manager will:
• Deliver leadership and management of the Systems, Data & Regional Support Services Team.
• Responsible for leadership, performance reviews, training, and development of 6 payroll professionals.
• Act as the WSDOT designated payroll subject matter expert for WSDOT systems, data, and regional and Ferries HQ labor and payroll.
• Ensure compliance with RCW, WAC, CBA, various internal manuals and state and federal policies and procedures as it relates to the Systems, Data & Regional Support Services Team’s areas of responsibility.

• Extract and analyze payroll data from DOTtime, Cognos, TRAINS, HRMS and AFRS to ensure timely and accurate reporting of payroll-related financial data.
• Approve journal vouchers and payment vouchers prepared by the Systems, Data & Regional Support Services Team.
• Develop, implement, and monitor internal controls for payroll-related activities.
• Communicate procedural changes affecting regional and Ferries HQ labor and payroll to WSDOT employees, supervisors, and management.
• Publish Payroll and Labor related calendars and work schedule tables.

Qualifications
To be considered for this opportunity, the following are required:
• Bachelor’s Degree in a financial field, with a minimum of 18 quarter or 12 semester hours of accounting. (Please note additional experience may substitute education.)

The Opportunity
WSDOT is looking to hire a skilled Heating Ventilation and Air Condition (HVAC) technician that will be responsible for performing skilled journey-level work installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and performing preventative maintenance on a variety of building systems that include mechanical, heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning. Safety is paramount and this position is expected to consider personal, co-worker, and public safety as the first and foremost objective during the planning and performance of all activities in connection with work assignments.

Among the varied range of responsibilities held within this role, the HVAC Mechanic will:
• Inspect, install, maintain, and repair HVAC system components and related equipment. Conduct checks on equipment, change filters, clean equipment, program control systems, install and modify ductwork, balance system air flow.
• Inspect, repair, and perform preventative maintenance on mechanical systems in facilities throughout the region. Troubleshoot systems and make repairs and modifications to restore or improve functioning of said systems.
• Document any maintenance performed and note any discrepancies. Estimate and install energy savings revisions to building systems, including obtaining necessary permits.
• Perform minor electrical repairs related to HVAC tasks including modifications to low voltage circuits.
Qualifications

The Opportunity
WSDOT is looking to hire a skilled Heating Ventilation and Air Condition (HVAC) technician that will be responsible for performing skilled journey-level work installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and performing preventative maintenance on a variety of building systems that include mechanical, heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning. Safety is paramount and this position is expected to consider personal, co-worker, and public safety as the first and foremost objective during the planning and performance of all activities in connection with work assignments.
What to Expect
Among the varied range of responsibilities held within this role, the HVAC Mechanic will:
• Inspect, install, maintain, and repair HVAC system components and related equipment. Conduct checks on equipment, change filters, clean equipment, program control systems, install and modify ductwork, balance system air flow.
• Inspect, repair, and perform preventative maintenance on mechanical systems in facilities throughout the region. Troubleshoot systems and make repairs and modifications to restore or improve functioning of said systems.
• Document any maintenance performed and note any discrepancies. Estimate and install energy savings revisions to building systems, including obtaining necessary permits.
• Perform minor electrical repairs related to HVAC tasks including modifications to low voltage circuits.
Qualifications
To be considered for this opportunity, the following are required:
• High School Diploma or GED
• Current Driver’s License
• Two (2) years performing journey-level work in the HVAC trade.
• EPA Class 2 Refrigeration License or EPA Universal Refrigeration License
In addition to:
• Ability to operate and work from motor vehicle scissor lifts, bucket trucks, forklifts, and man lifts at heights greater than 50 feet.
• Ability to work from a ladder in excess of 10 feet.
• Ability to lift up to or in excess of 50 lbs. with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Ability to occasionally work scheduled and unscheduled overtime and respond to emergencies.
• Ability to work in hazardous conditions such as loud noise, heat, cold, vibrations, high voltage electricity, elevations, and confined spaces.
• Ability to operate a computer utilizing a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) in order to receive and complete service requests.
• Ability to use hand tools and other diagnostic tools.
It is preferred that qualified candidates also have:
• Completion of an accredited Apprenticeship or Trade School program
• Four (4) or more years performing journey-level work in the HVAC trade.
• Building Operators Certification level 1-2
• EL-06 Limited Energy Electrical License
• Experience heavy equipment operation/towing

• The salary listed includes the legislative approved 5% salary premium for positions in King County and additional Assignment Pay.
