THE OPPORTUNITY / YOUR MISSION
As a Senior Software Engineer on our growing Engineering Success team, you'll be responsible for full system development including design, coding, and deployment of our platform services on which Zuora’s production services and product offerings run on. You'll take on challenges like providing a deployment, orchestration layer that joins multiple database technologies as well as projects that include extending Zuora's data model by allowing per-tenant schema modifications of standard objects with extra fields. You'll also tackle our workflow, event and notification system that captures all changes to Zuora's business objects. You will work on a near real-time data synchronization and integration framework that transfers Zuora data to external systems, 3rd party systems and much more.
WHAT YOU’LL ACHIEVE
• Design and develop highly flexible common components and APIs that enable the build of custom solutions that will be used across our company
• Interact with software architects and senior developers to design application modules using object-oriented design methods
• Work closely with QA engineers to design, implement, build and test automations using Terraform, Terraspace, Python, Ansible, Containers, certificates management tooling
WHAT WE THINK YOU’LL NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL
• BE/BA/BS in Computer Science or similar technical degree or equivalent experience
• 8+ years of experience in DevOps, SRE and/or designing and implementing CI/CD and Kubernetes and applications using Python, Golang, Terraform based technologies
• Working knowledge of modern web technologies including cloud-based APIs and protocols (SOAP, REST, JSON)
• Understanding of microservices frameworks.
• Understanding and experience with Observability stacks – Open telemetry, open tracing: Grafana, Prometheus
• Experience developing apps on a PaaS with database and object modeling skills
• Passion for exploring and experimenting with the latest application development technologies
• Disciplined self-starter, able to be highly productive both working alone and in close collaboration within an agile development team
• Tons of great ideas, the ability to bring them to life (or sometimes fail but learn a lot in the process) and a love for solving hard problems
• Any Cloud service provider experience.

The Team & Role
Zuora’s TechOps teams are responsible for Data Center and Cloud infrastructures, monitoring performance and uptime, managing internal and external shared services, infrastructure services and more – for Zuora’s customer facing SaaS products and platforms. Our technologists sit across US, Beijing, India and remotely, using a follow-the-sun model to provide 24x7x365 coverage for critical functions and partner closely with our Engineering, Customer Support, Security, Global Services and Sales teams on a daily basis to keep our customers front and center.
In this role you’ll get to
• Ensure Service Availability, Scalability, Security & Capacity
• Run our global infrastructure using Ansible, Terraform, CI/CD & Kubernetes in a multi-cloud platform
• Automation – continue to push for new levels of efficiencies
• Proactive, preventative enablement driving high reliability
• Architecting and enabling solutions that drive preventative, proactive solutions & Infrastructure services
• Be on an on-call (PagerDuty) rotation to respond to incidents that impact Zuora’s products and services availability, and provide leadership and drive restoration outcomes for service engineers with customer incidents.
• Drive and coordinate the critical impacting issues bridges and collaboration to root cause & restoration.
• Use your on-call shift to prevent incidents from ever happening.
• Run our infrastructure with Puppet, Ansible, Terraform, GIT CI/CD, Jenkins, ECS, and Kubernetes.
• Incorporate feedback from incidents back into monitoring that alerts on symptoms rather than on outages.
• Work with engineering teams on maintaining and improving runbooks, including documenting cases where runbooks are missing and needed.

THE TEAM
We are looking for a Senior Database Engineer (DBE) to join a team of talented Engineers. This role will be a member of the Database Engineering & Operations group within Zuora's Cloud Engineering and Technical Operations organization, which supports and scales customer facing Zuora services and underlying infrastructures. The DBE will be responsible for operating, automating MySQL and similar database instances across Zuora’s platform.
WHAT YOU'LL ACHIEVE
As the performance of the database is critical to the response time of the application, and the Zuora service is business critical to every single one of its customers, this role is critical to the success of the business itself. You will make a major difference in how the service scales and sustains data availability, scalability, performance and recovery capabilities. The DBE should have significant background and expertise in database administration on Linux and open source environments, and be fluent in best practices in designing optimal systems, storage architectures and automation frameworks. You must also be security minded and continuously exercise good judgment in ensuring the privacy and integrity of our customers' data.
Prior experience in managing database systems that store highly sensitive data and adhere to regulatory compliance such as PCI and SAS70/SSAE16 is a must. This role will work closely with fellow members of the Engineering teams to maintain business continuity and performance.
• Participate in design reviews with Engineering to ensure a given release does not compromise the security, integrity or quality of the underlying data structures used by the application
• Maintain high security and ethics, adhering to regulatory compliance such as PCI and SAS70/SSAE16 with respect to data storage, management, and access
• Automate tools and processes to establish trends in data growth and forecast capacity needs
• Execute data migrations and database upgrades as part of Zuora's product releases and ensure our automation is keeping up with our ever increasing database growth
• Ensure all databases and processes follow best practices and fit into the strategy. Initially perform, and longer term provide oversight for all MySQL, Oracle, Snowflake administration including installation, configuration, replication, backups, and performance tuning
• Work with the various Engineering groups and ensure database changes are in-line with operational standards and meet the strategies needed to scale Participate in on-call responsibilities, including at the database and storage tier.
• Work hand in hand with Release Engineering teams to support database changes required for new code deployment
You will take part in a shared on-call rotation that won't cripple your life or kill your soul.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL
• 7-10 years of experience as a MySQL and/or Oracle Database Engineer
• Excellent coding and automation skills using Python and/or Shell Scripting
• Good experience with public cloud technologies such as AWS and Microsoft Azure
• Drive best practices in monitoring databases with the ability to identify key performance indicators and put facilities in place to alarm on-call personnel for actionable events.
• Expertise in various MySQL replication technologies including when to use one method over another, limitations, and alternatives
• Fluency in horizontally scaling database infrastructures (MySQL clustering, Oracle RAC, Snowflake high-available architecture)
• Strong track record at implementing automated solutions for database operations, including failover, schema changes and sharding to name a few using technologies such as Ansible, Puppet, Jenkins, Terraform
• Experience with on-call and customer incident investigations and root cause analysis at database and storage tiers.
• Experience with Snowflake in administration, monitoring, security, managing roles and permissions, and performance tuning (preferable).

Prior experience in managing database systems that store highly sensitive data and adhere to regulatory compliance such as PCI and SAS70/SSAE16 is a must. This role will work closely with fellow members of the Engineering teams to maintain business continuity and performance.
• Participate in design reviews with Engineering to ensure a given release does not compromise the security, integrity or quality of the underlying data structures used by the application
• Maintain high security and ethics, adhering to regulatory compliance such as PCI and SAS70/SSAE16 with respect to data storage, management, and access
• Automate tools and processes to establish trends in data growth and forecast capacity needs
• Execute data migrations and database upgrades as part of Zuora's product releases and ensure our automation is keeping up with our ever increasing database growth
• Ensure all databases and processes follow best practices and fit into the strategy. Initially perform, and longer term provide oversight for all MySQL, Oracle, Snowflake administration including installation, configuration, replication, backups, and performance tuning
• Work with the various Engineering groups and ensure database changes are in-line with operational standards and meet the strategies needed to scale Participate in on-call responsibilities, including at the database and storage tier.
• Work hand in hand with Release Engineering teams to support database changes required for new code deployment

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL
• 7-10 years of experience as a MySQL and/or Oracle Database Engineer
• Excellent coding and automation skills using Python and/or Shell Scripting
• Good experience with public cloud technologies such as AWS and Microsoft Azure
• Drive best practices in monitoring databases with the ability to identify key performance indicators and put facilities in place to alarm on-call personnel for actionable events.
• Expertise in various MySQL replication technologies including when to use one method over another, limitations, and alternatives
• Fluency in horizontally scaling database infrastructures (MySQL clustering, Oracle RAC, Snowflake high-available architecture)
• Strong track record at implementing automated solutions for database operations, including failover, schema changes and sharding to name a few using technologies such as Ansible, Puppet, Jenkins, Terraform
• Experience with on-call and customer incident investigations and root cause analysis at database and storage tiers.
• Experience with Snowflake in administration, monitoring, security, managing roles and permissions, and performance tuning (preferable).
• Experience with managed database services provided by AWS and Microsoft Azure (preferable).

Lead, Inspire, and deliver Zuora’s pricing function, including cross functional alignment, pricing and package strategy, product portfolio management , profitable growth and governance.

The Senior Director of Pricing Strategy will be responsible for the overall pricing strategy for Zuora’s portfolio of new and existing products and packages. This includes defining the strategies for monetization, pricing and customer adoption. Other activities include developing models and tools to aid sales in setting pricing for products and services. Analyze market price trends to ensure product prices are set competitively
Who are you? You are part of the finance team who will partner closely with Product Management, Product marketing, Sales, Revenue accounting and others to analyze product requirements, develop pricing proposals, set policies, implement best practices, define playbooks and ensure pricing compliance. The role will require someone who has a SAAS background or experience working with the industry.
You will have a high level of executive visibility and significant responsibility, being the subject-matter expert for pricing for all Zuora products and packages.
WHAT YOU’LL ACHIEVE
• You will build a comprehensive pricing and packaging strategy and pricing model which ensures ease of implementation and market/field adoption

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in pricing analysis, or similar analytical roles
• Good understanding of SaaS pricing & licensing practices required
• Experience with a global technology firm or working with similar in a consulting or investment banking capacity.
• Outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills
• Proficiency in influencing and negotiation across different groups
• Superb written and verbal communication skills
• Highly flexible and adaptive, able to multi-thread across a number of simultaneous projects

Lead, Inspire, and deliver Zuora’s pricing function, including cross functional alignment, pricing and package strategy, product portfolio management , profitable growth and governance.
THE OPPORTUNITY (AKA: Why you want this role over any other out there)
The Senior Director of Pricing Strategy will be responsible for the overall pricing strategy for Zuora’s portfolio of new and existing products and packages. This includes defining the strategies for monetization, pricing and customer adoption. Other activities include developing models and tools to aid sales in setting pricing for products and services. Analyze market price trends to ensure product prices are set competitively
Who are you? You are part of the finance team who will partner closely with Product Management, Product marketing, Sales, Revenue accounting and others to analyze product requirements, develop pricing proposals, set policies, implement best practices, define playbooks and ensure pricing compliance. The role will require someone who has a SAAS background or experience working with the industry.
You will have a high level of executive visibility and significant responsibility, being the subject-matter expert for pricing for all Zuora products and packages.
WHAT YOU’LL ACHIEVE
• You will build a comprehensive pricing and packaging strategy and pricing model which ensures ease of implementation and market/field adoption
• You will clearly define our product portfolio and align with sales on our commercial strategy
• You will have a clear focus on profitable growth
• You will build processes that will scale with the growth of the company
• You will help build the most efficient pricing groups of SaaS Companies
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in pricing analysis, or similar analytical roles
• Good understanding of SaaS pricing & licensing practices required
• Experience with a global technology firm or working with similar in a consulting or investment banking capacity.
• Outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills
• Proficiency in influencing and negotiation across different groups
• Superb written and verbal communication skills
• Highly flexible and adaptive, able to multi-thread across a number of simultaneous projects
• Team player – able to work cross-functionally
• MBA is preferred

• Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Organization Development, Behavior Engineering or related field, Master’s degree preferred. Advanced certification(s) in Learning & Development, Design Thinking and/or Organizational Change Management a plus.
• 5+ years experience executing on enterprise wide programs in partnership with IT and other business units; defining and driving outcomes, managing diverse stakeholders, staying within budget and delivering data driven recommendations.
• Deep knowledge of Technology Enabled Development with heavy focus on end-user experience, challenging status quo, and proactively leveraging the latest technology trends and industry best practices.
• Ability to quickly understand and communicate technical concepts to audiences of varying technical expertise (sales team, customer success team, and channel partners).
• Strong understanding of regional and global communications strategies, creating compelling messaging that translate organizational objectives and program priorities.
• Relentless focus, independently capable of seeking information, solving conceptual problems, corralling resources, and delivering results in challenging situations.
• Top-notch communication and presentation skills, including experience communicating insights through data with senior-level executives and rallying cross functional teams through inspiration and vision.
• Strong leadership of cross-functional teams with the ability to inspire team members, drive alignment and obtain buy-in from diverse stakeholders. Experience managing people and teams is a plus.
